Time to breathe

We had a crazier than usual fall! Both kids decided to do Bye, Bye, Birdie with Waxahachie Community Theatre. While Max has been doing these big musicals for six years, this was Maven's first. I think she has also been bitten by the performing bug!

Mave also tried something new this year...softball. It probably wasn't the best time, since she was doing Birdie, but I think she enjoyed it. Of course, the best part was spending time with her friends, Haylee and Peyton.

Max has been busy with school choir, One Act Play, and church youth group. He has developed quite the social life. I am thoroughly enjoying his friends. It is a great relief that I enjoy my own teenager as much as I have enjoyed all these others throughout the year!

Christmas break has been a nice time to catch our breath before the spring semester starts. I am spending this last week on the couch sick. However, at least I am not missing work, and I am getting a lot of crocheting done.

Back to School

We have all had a great start to the school year. Both kids are in new schools this year. Max is in 8th grade at Howard Jr. High. Maven is in 2nd grade at Clift Elementary.

Max is at one of my two schools. (Yes, I am still traveling.). We both plan to enjoy this year to the fullest, since it is the last time we will ever be on the same campus. He has GT Algebra I, GT language arts, and choir. He loves his schedule (despite the many trips up and down the stairs!), and his teachers.

Maven switched schools from Dunaway to the newly formed Clift Elementary. Exciting times are ahead! She was sad to leave some of her best friends at Dunaway, but she will still see them often. The Clift teachers are so excited to be a part of this new campus, so the people who will benefit most are the kids!

I am still traveling between the two junior high campuses. This yearn we added 6th grade to the mix, so it is certainly an adjustment!
